Our story

Hello there,

Two decades ago, I co-founded The Diplomat, a foreign affairs magazine, launched in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. Today, that publication, headquartered in Tokyo, has become the leading news website on Asian current affairs. In 2015, I founded the Mekong Review, an Asian literary quarterly. From humble beginnings in Cambodia, my home at the time, Mekong Review has become a cultural institution, fostering new writing talent from Asia. This year, now based in the United Kingdom, I’m launching a new imprint. New country, same old publishing zeal.

With Bui Jones, I plan to publish original and thought-provoking books on international affairs—my abiding passion—by emerging and established writers who share that passion. Together, we hope to offer our readers fresh and sharp perspectives on the latest in global affairs.
